Split an existing moel.

I have an apartment building that I need to split in half to make two separate models now 10' apart from each other. What would be the process to accomplish this. Would I move half piece by piece of is there some magic trim to cut the building in half.

What would you do?

Make another copy of the model and delete the other half.
Of course make a copy before you start the process in case something bad happens.
Hopefully you can find a nice spot to do it, like say a vertical expansion joint.
