Revit - dimensioning mullions

Trying to dimension the spacing between horizontal mullions but keep getting the centerline of the mullions. when I dimension the spacing between the vertical mullions, not a problem (mullion, panel, mullion, panel, etc.)
gotta be some kind of setting to change it. I can measure (DS) between the mullions but not dimension between them.

any clue?

just before you click on the horizontal mullion (centerline shows up), tap the TAB key. gotta do this for each face of the mullion. tab, click, tab, click, etc.
