Openings and cut patterns

i created an opening for the elevator doors and when I changed the exterior projection parameter from 6" to 7" the CMU cut pattern disappears.
anyone know why and if so, know how to fix it?

sounds like a view range issue. try editing the view range cut plane position

It's not the view range.
I went back into the door frame family and changed the parameter to be larger than normal and now it works.
strange.
