View Full Version : 2015 Export plan with DWG link, hidden layers showing up in DWG

I'm working on a project in collaboration with another architect. They are using ACAD, we are using Revit. We will be responsible for providing DWG backgrounds to all the consultants, so we are exporting plans from Revit.

Because of the collaboration, our Revit plan views have DWG links. Our templates hide things in the DWG link like grids and the building's exterior walls because we are responsible for those and they are modeled in Revit.

However, when we export our plan view from Revit to DWG, ALL the layers from the DWG link are included and turned on!

Is this the correct behavior for exports? If so, what are our options?

Hi, I am also working with an architect using ACAD. It seems that this problem can be managed through VG / Imported Categories, but the layers that you turn off there won't be exported at all.

I would suggest you export once and set up a layer translator or set up a layerstate.
I believe you can still pass those from one drawing to another.
