Had a situation today where the central file on a large project I'm working on was completely unusable. You couldn't even open it.

So we took one user's local, saved it as a central under a new name, and then got all the team to resave to central by clicking the Browse button to point the local files to the new central file.

It was probably some network problems that caused the glitch, but the good news is we weren't held back at all. Even though all your eggs are in one basket, you still have several copies of those baskets...

For anyone who wants to try this at home, make sure that the local file that you use as the new central is the last one that was saved to central (you can look in the journal files to figure out which one this is). Otherwise anyone who had saved to central after that user will not be able to save his local file to the new central.
