View Full Version : Beyond objects override

I've been dabbling around with various settings for object displays, and have hit a weird one. Refer attachment.
I have a door that is being shown using the <Beyond> line settings as it is located in the view's 'View Depth'. The line settings have been set in the Line Styles.
But when I change the override in the Visibility dialogue, there is no change. It's as though it is still treated as a door which is located on the current level. Shouldn't the override be changing this?
Ed: Or does the override only apply to detail and model lines?

One other thing, is it possible to change/override the 'Underlay' line settings?

Hi Chad,

Elements not within the primary range yet within the View Depth are drawn using the Beyond line style. Therefore to change the appearance of the door viewed in plan from Level 2 you need to change the linestyle for "Beyond", or use the "linework tool' for changes that are view specific.

Changing the object setting styles, or the settings in VV for the door plan swing will only effect the door when viewed in cut or projection when the primary range encompasses it.

Hope that makes sense.

Re the underlay line settings, no that cannot be changed.

It seems to me, this would be a lot more usable if you could adjust View Range settings for Elevation views. :?

I'm sure it must be on the wish list.... but i'll go check.
