View Full Version : 2017 Unreferenced Xrefs no detach option

This issue came about in an attempt to resolve another problem.
I cannot attach the DWG in question as an overlay in another DWG. When I try I get the response "Invalid".
So there is my drawing DWGA -> xref 179(T)_1-50 -> xref 179_P_00_1-50 -> xrefs I have not been supplied...

I read that it may be necessary to remove the links to unsupplied xrefs from the DWG before it will be considered valid and allow me to overlay on my drawing file.
I can detach all xrefs except the one name "Bath" which AFAIK is a point cloud.

Can anyone can suggest what is going wrong, how to get around this, or point me in the right direction to find an answer, please?

Many Thanks

Amy

Sometimes that happens if someone deletes the file (like erase) without detaching it.
A trick I have found is have a "mock file" and re-path or re-attach it with the same name, and then detach it.

Basically tricking AutoCAD to thinking you found it.

That makes sense, the files were assembled by 3D software and exported to 2D DWG files which I guess would explain the references to missing files.
I have no point cloud files so I will try a text file and see if that works.

Thank you, Ted.

If you detach all of those items that are not found, the unreferenced one will probably go away too...
