I just noticed that while using the trim command, Autocad (2017, 2016) will select an entire polyline if I only draw my selection window (not a crossing window) across at least 1 midpoint as well as the end point of that polyline.
It will not select it if I only go across mid points, nor will it select it if I only cross the start point and mid points of that same polyline.
I noticed it when I used a selection window to select a few lines to trim to and purposely started beyond the start point of a polyline I had in the same area. When I trimmed the lines, I noticed that they trimmed to the polyline instead of my selected lines since they were beyond the polyline.
Is this a glitch, or designed into the Autocad trim command only?
Is there a command to dissable/enable this functionality?
I hadn't noticed it before today.
To replicate what I did, draw a pline with a start, end and at least one mid point.
Then, enter the trim command and use a selection window (not a crossing window) to cross the midpoint and the endpoint.
It should then select the entire polyline.
