Hello!
I have a question. Knows anyone how to recover .dwg file? I have a file which won't open in AutoCad 2011 and says "drawing file is corrupted"! Is it possible to do recovery if file .bak file is not there? Only .dwg!
Through the recovery Manager do not work. The file was created in AutoCad 2007.

Without a .bak or .sv$ file you're probably out of luck, but try inserting the .dwg file into a blank drawing. Check to see if you office has a backup system.

* Post the DWG file here, and let someone try.

* Download BricsCAD (https://www.bricsys.com/en_INTL/) or AresCAD (https://www.graebert.com/en/arescommander) - many times they will open DWG files that AutoCAD won't.

Hi. OttoCech739294

First of all, you can try the build-in "Recover" command in AutoCAD to recover your corrupt DWG file, you can get more detailed info at:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-File-Corruption.html

If the above method does not work, then you can try third-party DWG recovery tools, such as DataNumen DWG Recovery at:

https://www.datanumen.com/dwg-recovery/

I have used the tool in the past and it helps recovering some valuable DWG files. The tool has a free demo so that you can try before you buy.

Good luck!

To insert the file as the link or the block.
It is possible to try into the new file insert "damaged" file as the external link or the block.
To insert a file as an external reference:
• on the menu bar, go to Insert - the Link to DWG and to choose the necessary file;
• enter the command _.xref and select the desired file.

To insert a file as a block:
• on the menu bar, go to Insert - Block and choose the file;
• enter the command _.insert and select the desired file.
If this does not help, then use dwg recovery software DWG Recovery Toolbox for this purpose.
