Hello,

In the foundation plan of my model I've drawn in my floor using the "Structural Foundation: Slab" feature, mostly so that it shows up in the model details I'm creating. Since I have no reason for the slab to show up in my foundation plan view, I'd like to hide the visibility of the foundation slab only so that I can easily see/tag the foundation walls and footings below.

The only way I've been able to turn off the foundation slab visibility is to uncheck the "Structural Foundations" box in visibility/graphics, but this hides the footings and foundation walls as well. Changing the view range is not an option due to the fact that my top-of-slab elevation is equal to my top-of-foundation-wall elevation.

Help!

You can do this several ways, but I think you want to "Hide Element" (vs. catagory) in the view and that should do it.

Another thing you can do is set transparency to 100% for floor slabs.
You can apply that to a view template and assign that template to all similar views you want to look the same.

good luck

That's just it, there is no subcategory for "floor slabs" so I would have to apply this visibility setting to foundation walls/footings as well

No, as I mentioned, you simply hide the actual element, not catagory.
Select slab, right click and you get options (see screen shot) you can override elements here too.

I prefer not to hide or change visibility this way because its so easy to lose track of what's hidden if it's on an element-by-element basis. Although it looks like I may not have a choice for this specific instance. It seems to me as though there should be separate subcategories under Structural Foundations for Slabs, Foundation Walls, Footings, etc.

Maybe I'll just switch them to floors instead of foundation slabs... I know you can hide those easily. Thanks for your help.

Could you filter the slab type and use filters in the View Template to hide it?
