Equipment Schedule with a quantity of 0

Hey guys, to start things off I'm a Foodservice consultant and we design everything using "Specialty Equipment". We use hundreds of pieces of equipment so in our equipment schedule it's not uncommon to leave spare numbers between 10 pieces of equipment in case we add more later. In order for me to get a schedule to pick up a spare every 10 items I have a family for them which I tag and BAM I get a spare in my schedule, the only down side is it gives me a quality of 1, for which I completely understand why... my question is, is there a way to trick it in not scheduling a quantity of 1.. without making the count parameter a text parameter and manually typing in the quantity?

You could add a "Appears In Schedule" Parameter to your families as a type parameter and filter it out.
But if it's placed an you want to change a quantity, I'm not sure you can really do that. Might be able to with a calculated value, but I'm not sure that'll work.
If you want it to appear 0, I'd simply just not put it in the schedule.
