Columns With Wall Joins

Please i need some help concerning the joins between walls and columns:
when i model the finish and the wall structure in the same wall type after joining a thin line between the core wall and the column appears (as attached in the Current Case pic)
while if i model the finish separately i got the desired presentation attached.

is there any thing i can do to have the same desired presentation but modeling the wall and the finish together??

One quick fix may be to disallow join on the walls that meet the column. Select the wall, hover over the end grip that meets the column, right-click and choose disallow join.

Another thing you might try (but I don't know if this will have any effect), check out the layers of the wall. If you haven't before, notice that each layer has a number (Structure = [1], Substrate = [2], etc). There are two finish layers that have [4] and [5]. These numbers determine what layer takes precedent when two walls join. You might be able to tweak the wall layers to get it to join the way you want.
