For as long as I can remember, I've longed for the day where I can import a DWG site plan and a toposurface into a Revit file and they fall into the correct place. I've often had trouble getting one or the other to work, and recently found that they appear to reference different coordinate systems.
Now I have managed to accurately import a surveyor's site plan using this method --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK6snx8vvy0 . This works great and the DWG import appears to reference the Survey Point coordinate system (which shoots off into the distance once you "Specify Coordinates at Point", which is fine).
Now, when I import a toposurface from a Comma Delimited Text file, the toposurface appears to reference the Project Base Point coordinate system, which is still sitting happy in the middle of my drawing. This results in the toposurface being the same distance from my DWG import as the distance between the Survey Point and Project Base Point. I therefore then have to move the toposurface this distance in order for it to align with my DWG import.
I apologise if that wasn't completely clear, but surely there must be an easier way to import a site plan and toposurface so they come in using the same coordinate system?
