when I turn off a specific layer (which is a non-plotting layer called 0-NPLT) I can hatch areas that require showing material changes. However, if I have that layer turned ON I cannot reliably create hatch boundaries in some areas of my drawing. I have even deleted objects that reside on that layer and which are in the vicinity of the area to be hatched, and it has no effect. I'm not sure what the connection to the layer is, can anyone comment on this behavior?

Also, when I say...boundaries, I mean to say that I am using the pick point selection method; and the cannot-find-boundary warning window(s) appear; or the hatch extends beyond the desired area. thanks.

Later that afternoon:
Never mind. the real problem was a triangular sliver of polyline overlapping my hatch area - less than a 1/64". grr....but still the layer issue was real, too.
