Cut Geometry Tool

Hello,

I am looking to cut a nook into a wall but I am having trouble. I have created a wall component in an attempt to use it to cut the wall, but the cut geometry tool will not allow me to select the modeled in place component. I have also tried to create a model in place void extrusion, but when I try to complete the component, it says I am not cutting anything and will not let me continue.

I'm stuck. Any thoughts, or is there any more information I can provide to help explain my problem?

Use cut geometry tool before you exit the sketch mode.
