Linked drawing to imported workset

I am working on the architectural model. I have been working with a structural engineer. We have been linking his drawing to ours. The scope of work for the structural engineer had concluded. We now have ownership of the structural model. We would like to include it in or architectural model as a workset. How do we do that?

I believe you can bind in a linked model, which creates all the linked model geometry as a group in your model. Then, you should be able to create the required workset, place the group on that workset, and then explode the group. Theoretically all the elements that were in the linked structural model should now exist live in your model, but on that workset.

Keep in mind that there will likely be copied elements such as walls, floors and roofs that will now be duplicated in your model.

Any reason for not just keeping the model on your server but linked into the architectural model?
