Save out a baluster family

How do I save out a baluster family from a Revit to edit to my needs? I don't see the family on the list of families to "Save to library" and I can't see any other way to access it. Any help?

I think it's under the Railing category. Try there.

But how do you go into a particular baluster family to edit it? I can't find any way to "Save to library"...

Project browser > Families > Railings

Rt-click on the baluster and select Save. Save it to your desired location.

File > Open

Select the baluster family and edit away!

"save" is grayed out...not an option.

If it was created prior to 6.0 you can't save it out.

It was (probably) then created in a version before 6.0, when the ability to save out families was introduced. You will need to re-create it using the balluster template.
