View Full Version : Filled regions imported from AutoCAD

In Revit 7, I imported a plan from AutoCAD and with great care selected only layers that I needed, making sure that no hatch layer was included. However when I exploded the import (so I can convert the wall lines to walls) some - though not all - hatching appeared, and on checking from the original AutoCAD drawing all the hatching are on the same hatch layer. Back in Revit the tooltip tells me that they are Detail items: Filled region: Detail Filled Region, and what's more they mask the new walls generated, even in 3D view. My question is how do I not import the hatching or what's a quick way to isolate & delete the filled regions? Thanks.

...However when I exploded the import (so I can convert the wall lines to walls)You don't need to explode to create walls. You can't convert, change lines into walls. You can "pick" the lines in the dwg to create walls and you don't need to explode the dwg file to do this.

Thanks Steve, that saves me a lot of trouble!
Still wondering why the filled region came in though...

kwongCan only guess...I'd say that the hatches are either not bylayer in some way or they are not all on the same layer. I've you post the file we could take a look and see if there is something obvious. You could also send it to support so they can see if something is amiss in the import process?
