I used the solid sweep mass to create an architrave. In elevations, the architrave shows up as solid, but when I go into 3d the architrave appears to be wireframed even though the 3d view is not set on wireframe. Any thoughts as to why this mass shows up like this only in 3d? Thanks.

if it is a "massed" objects, then a "by catagory" setting it will have a transparency. Change the material to a "default" and if that fixes it then you are gold. Did you create this as a "mass" or as a in place family?

Select the object while editing the mass group and check the properties box, where it says material, assign it a solid material like "default", not "by catagory." Double check its transparency setting, make sure it is on zero.

Long term, mass won't be what you want here. You'll either want an in-place family, wall sweep, roof fascia, or sweep as part of the wall style.

I had to look up "Archtraive", there a lot of advantages to doing it the way he is sugesting. As either a custom in place family or a loaded one ( your modeling techniques are the same) but you will have a lot more control over its visibility in all view (which might be the root couse of your problem) by being able to assigning it to object sytle catagories and sub catagories. The massing tool is fairly new and I don't think Atuodesk has properly educated folks as to its proper use it its current release materials. Back in the old days before wall sweeps and roof fascia toold we had to use inplace families for just about everything, but I would strongly recomend looking into using thos features for specific design features, and use the massing tool for "building geometry/ massing" generation.
Click on the components button and then hit the "create in place" button to start modeling an "inplace family", or "file/new/family" to create a loaded family. in a lot of cases you can copy and paste your modeling sketches from massing to these in place or loaded falimles, so you won't loose all your work.
