I've been given a set of drawings (.dwg) which I have to merge into one dwg file using layout tabs
Is there an easy way to do that or do I have to manually copy-paste each files content into a new layout tab?
I'm using Autocad 2015 at this moment but I can also try on 2017 if it does have the possibility

You can simply copy multiple layout tabs from one drawing into another using the Design Center drag and drop feature. While for model space content, you can attach your set of drawings into that single file as XREFs.
You will need to maintain the original coordinates to properly display contents in layout sheets which may cause overlapping if more than one attached file are sharing the same origin but with a different content.

Oke, it's a start, didn't think of using the design center instead of copy-paste, this will be a bit quicker
But I was hoping for a tool to do it in one go ...

Hard to imagine anything simpler than drag and drop. How else could you select the files to add or where to reference them to?

I create a new layer for each attachment. That way you can VPFreeze xrefs and images in viewports you don't need them in. Select the attachment first so the entire xref is selected then click VPFreeze so it will always freeze the xref and not just one xref layer as with the default settings.
