Hey all,

I just encountered a long-standing bug in AutoCAD. I received my new monitors today (1920x1200) and now when I maximize AutoCAD with floating command line my crosshair box and pickbox turn to rectangle and not square. If I drag the window so it's not maximized the pickbox turns back to normal square.

I did not encounter this problem with the old monitor (1600x900).

I am running my new monitors at native resolution (1920x1200) with correct 16:10 aspect ratio, connected via DisplayPort, and my GPU is a Quadro P2000 with certified driver version.

I like the transparent floating command line and I obviously want my AutoCAD window maximized. Is there a permanent solution for this?

I am running AutoCAD 2018 and can't believe Autodesk hasn't fixed this yet! The issue has been reported for many years!

Insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

You did not mention the monitors model, but what happens if you run it 1920x1080 ?

I knew someone will tell me to change the resolution. And I will repeat I am running native.

It's a workstation monitor, not a television. Ok, fine, treat me like an idiot. The model is U2412M

...Besides, I did say the the pickbox changes shape between windowed and maximized. I ask for a fix of the bug. If you have not experienced this then you won't know what I'm talking about anyway. However if you Google this issue across AutoCAD versions dates back to 2005, inherited with every version since.

1. I did not tell you to change the resolution, I asked what happens if you run it at a different resolution.

2. I did not treat you "like an idiot" - I asked a legitimate question, because of missing information in your original post.

3. This is certainly not the place to find "bug fixes". We are not Autodesk, there is nobody here who can provide such "fix". Open a support ticket with Autodesk (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/subscription-management/support-options/web-support/submit-view-cases). This is about as good as you can do. Good luck.

Not a fix but a workaround: Stretch your main window to within a couple of pixels of the monitor corners. Trust me, you won't those few pixels.
