Unexplained convenience...

Hi,

I have this wonderful phenomenon whereby the layers in the Layer Properties Manager will auto-sort alphabetically when I add a new layer, but only when in a drawing created from our company template. If I start a blank 'No Template - Metric' drawing (typically for pdf conversions) it won't auto-sort. I've Googled for a System Variable, had a rummage around AutoCAD as well, but to no avail.

Does anyone know how this occurs and how I can duplicate it for every dwg file I touch?

The only reason I know of why layers won't sort is that the number of layers exceeds the value of the system variable MAXSORT (http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-7AD30968-4982-4E1C-9847-69A5EAEB7C63).
When this is the case, layers are displayed in the order of creation.

MAXSORT affects other lists too, not just layers.
