Applying fill patternto walls in elevations

I've done this many times and can't seem to remember how.
I want to add a sand fill pattern to my exterior walls to illustrate a stucco finish.
When editing wall style and adding coarse scale fill pattern, it only affects plan view.

I even opened an old project that has the affect applied and I can't find anywhere that the fill pattern is activated in that wall style. but it's showing up perfectly??
Can someone refresh me on this?

The fill is probably a surface pattern that is part of a material definition. You can either change your wall assemblies to reflect the actual materials or you can apply the pattern by painting the surface with a specific material.

Sand is not available in the materials definitions palette

Just create a new material,.

You may need to check to make sure you have a "Sand" pattern that is both a Drafting and a Model Pattern.
