Room Schedule & Ceiling Tags

I asked this question about a year ago and was wondering has anyone figured out a solution?

I will add to the original question that often I don't need a ceiling tag in the project but need to have the ceiling height scheduled in the room schedule.

Unless I'm missing something, the linked thread already has a solution for a flat ceiling.

The workaround method provided in the link is unclear to me. Can someone explain it better or offer a none workaround solution?
