Greetings,
I apologize for this post in advance and would appreciate being directed to the best location to post it.

I am one of the developers for a plugin for SketchUp called PlaceMaker – www.suplacemaker.com

PlaceMaker imports and reformats OpenStreetMap data, aerials and other data into 3D for use in SketchUp.
We are exploring the option of creating a standalone Revit Add-on for PlaceMaker.

We are wanting to find out if there would be any interest in the Revit community for a version that worked for Revit, in Revit.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Right now We can import and convert:
Buildings, roads, paths, water and trees (forest data). We also import DigitalGlobe high rez aerials and Nearmap super high rez (3” resolution). We are adding more data sources as we go along.
Is this useful for the Revit community? Would companies want to purchase such an Add-on? Are there Add-ons that already do this type of import?

Thanks for any feedback.

I think this would be a useful add-on.
Depending on price I might be a buyer.

Check these guys out. Very cool team. They developed a Real Estate platform for a branch of our company, Altus Argus

Daniel,

Just downloaded the trail and did a quick test. IMO, YES please develop a version that works in Revit.

I really feel there's a need for a site design tool that's simple and user friendly that works INSIDE Revit.
