Our client wanted a "historic, New Orleans style" design.

Really good rendering! Pure Accurender? Could you post your render settings please?

Yes, pure Accurender inside Revit. I used slightly different settings for each view, mainly to get different sun angles. For the basic settings refer to the attached .jpg. Sun and sky settings are the default out of the box settings.

The elevation in particular? Create a 3D view and orient it to either a section of elevation view (use the fly out on the dynamic view dialog - see the attached .jpg). I try to adjust the sun angle to highlight the design - don't get too hung up on the fact that this might mean that the sun is coming from the North (I guess this isn't a problem in Australia). This is a bit of trail and error, but it can make a big difference.

Most of the materials I used on this building were developed from actual material samples. Many manufacturer's have decent images on their websites that can be used for developing materials. The Acme brick designer is the best source for brick.

To add notes to a rendering, I will typically add them to an elevation view first, then copy/past them to the rendering (change the scale of the captured rendering to match the elevation and your notes will paste at the right size). If the rendering needs to be changed, the notes can be copy/pasted into the new one easily.

It really helped on this project that we bought a bunch of RPC content to build our library.
