alignment direction

is there a way to change the direction of an alignment once it has been created? say you created it from southwest to northeast, but want it to go northeast to southwest and still have positive stationing.

Yes. Select the alignment and the ribbon will show all the alignment tools. One of the tool groups is Modify. Note that there is a down facing arrow (triangle) next to the name Modify. That means there are more modify tools if you pull it down. One of those additional tools is Reverse Direction.
