Hi, I'm totally new to AutoCAD and trying to find some advice.
When I try to open a AutoCAD(DWG) file I get an error: AutoCAD can't run on your PC.
It shows up for one DWG file but not others. This started after I upgraded from the trial Win 8.1 to the full release of 8.1. I've tried uninstalling AutoCAD and re-installing. No help. Why does the program give me this pop up every time? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Rather than clicking on a file, have you tried just running acad from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut? What version do you have installed?

Is that the exact error message? Is this an alert dialog box?
I've never seen that one.
What version of AutoCAD is this?

The error report message is usually displayed when your AutoCAD session ends unexpectedly. This message contains information on how you can send error reports to Autodesk. Error reports can help Autodesk Product Support identify and resolve issues with the product.
This error message can appear during program installation, while a Autodesk Inc.-related software program (eg. AutoCAD) is running, during Windows startup or shutdown, or even during the installation of the Windows operating system. Keeping track of when and where your error occurs is a critical piece of information in troubleshooting the problem. You can try to fix AutoCAD file (https://dwg.recoverytoolbox.com/online/) or system Restore can return your PC's system files and programs back to a time when everything was working fine.

It can be because of a Autocad file corruption or size limit, your file is too big. Read more information here (https://onlinefile.repair/en/autocad.html).
