Can't select objects in underlay

When I draw a roof plan I keep the level below on as an underlay, which is automatic when opening the roof view. But, up until I upgraded to Revit 2019, I always selected items in the underlay that I didn't want to show up and hid them. (plumbing fixtures, appliances, etc.)
But now, in 2019 I am unable to select anything in the underlay?? walls, doors, windows, nothing is select-able. Am I missing something? My reseller tech support says it might be an install gliche.
I think it's probably just something simple I'm missing.

As a start, could you verify that the Select underlay elements option is enabled?
