Custom Grid Line Length in Different Views?

Can the length of a gridline be customized per view or must a gridline appear the same length in all views?

Yes, it can be customized per view. When you select the Grid, near either end you should see the text "3D" (for Grid lines tied to overall 3D extents) or "2D" (for Grid lines that are independent of the overall 3D extents in the current View). Click on that text to toggle between the two options. Set it to "2D" to allow you to edit the current View's extents without affecting other Views.

You can also affect the extents by activating the Crop Box for a view, without setting the Grid to "2D".
