When adding fill patterns to masonry walls I like to use lines perp. to the enclosing walls. If I use 'horz-small' fill pattern it works for vert. walls but not horz. walls. Is there a way to make the fill pattern orient to the walls in lieu of the screen?

As far as I know it is not possible. One way around this may be to make two wall types; one with a horizontal hatch and another with a vertical hatch. You could then use the miter join tool on your walls to get the hatches to look better at the corners

Another option would be to make your walls out of a series of small layers that would appear as a hatch in medium and fine views.

Either of these options sounds like a lot of unnecessary complication and extra work. If I were you I would just use a cross-hatch fill in course view setting. Most people consider this to be an acceptable representation of masonry.

Revit needs this one. ADT has been doing this a while with "Global" and "Object" hatch positioning...

I like my hatches to turn too...

Pat, there has been some discussion about the need for this in the past.

If you really want it, the best method is the 2 wall types. It doesn't take all that long to set up. Of course, once done, save the wall types to your default template and you've got them for good.

Here's an image of the result.

Couldn't agree more. There is no reason for Revit not to have this.
