I have a bunch of text styles in my template from importing DWG files and exploding them. I want to delete these text familes. Is it possible to do this? If so how would I do this?

You can't delete them directly. You have to make sure there are no objects using a particular font, then use the Purge Unused command. Look for the text styles in the purge list.
