I'm trying to make an area tag that displays both metric and imperial measurements by using a formula. The idea being Revit will measure a floor area in metric but display both values on the tag. Any helpful bodies out there who know how to do this? It looks possible but my skillz are not phat enuf.
Cheers

And also, can you share the parameters of the above file so that one is able to create a schedule from the results?

Nice job beegee! This will be quite handy on a number of potential projects in our office. Thanks.

I don't think the area tag can be a shared parameter. ( Someone will quickly let me know if that is not the case )
Coming soon in R6.0, > formulas in schedules. So you can add a column to your area schedule that converts the metric area to imperial. Therefore, no need for a multi category area tag, unless you wish to display both areas, of course.

6.0 will have the ability to create formulae within schedules, so you can do this in the schedule as of...7 days from now!

It seems you can make a schedule but it only displays the metric values. Guess I'll have to wait a few days for 6.0.
Thanks for the help

The capability exists in 5.1
In Properties of your schedule select Formatting tab and press Format button. Then uncheck "Use project settings" and pick formatting Imperial or Metric as needed.
The only thing that might be missing in 5.1 but available in 6.0 is the ability to add an additional column, make the formula newParameter = oldParameter and format each column appropriately.

I think Meta4 is looking for a schedule that has one column for metric area measurements and an adjacent column giving these areas in imperial. This requires two area fields, each with different formatting. I don't think that can be done in 5.1 ?
The posted combined area tag does this, but the tag labels cannot be made into shared parameters ( unless I'm missing something )
6.0 will allow a formula to be applied to convert the area, or else to use the old parameter and reformat it, thus solving the problem.

What is the formula in the parameter that allows you to do this?
