View Full Version : TrueType or outline fonts vs. shx

I have been thinking of changing the standard font my company uses from a shx font to a truetype font. I find truetype fonts print/plot sharper and clearer than shx fonts especially when plotting reduced size plots (half size prints). However, the performance of AutoCAD slows down when there is alot of text in the file (a note sheet for example) and truetype is harder to read on the screen unless zoomed in close.
Does anyone have any comments to add about doing this?
Does anyone know of a good architectural truetype font?

Thank You,
Stephen Crosley

FWIW, I would only use ttf styles when there is no alternative - as in a logo.
They increase file size and slow display and plotting operations.
