I have an opportunity to work with an office who has tons of super cool work, but they use vectorworks. Is there any operability between VW and Revit? Can files be exported and imported between the 2? And insight is appreciated. Thx.

IFC support by both is about the extent of it...

But, boy, does IFC transfer leave a LOT to be desired. In my (limited) experience, most 3D geometry survives, but not phases, views, sheets, or most annotation. Don't know about materials. You might be surprised at how quickly you can pick up one high-end CAD program if you know another already. Download the free 30-day trial of VW and really give it a workout.

I think you're right, if they want vectorworks I'll have to download the trial and roll my sleeves up. The downside of that is that it will probably take me much longer to produce anything to look at than they might be willing to wait. If, as you and many others including vectorworks say, that vectorworks can import revit 3-D models, then what would I be lose if I model the existing building and new design in Revit, and then import it into vectorworks before documentation, sheets, etc.? At least that will give me some weeks to come up to speed on Vectorworks.
