Cannot turn off shadows

Hi, I am working on a Revit file that seems to have the shadows locked somehow. The option to toggle shadows on / off is ghosted (see attached). How do I disable this? I want to turn off shadows in elevations.

Set the view template to none, or uncheck 'shadows' parameter in the view template dialog box.
