custom surface patterns

is there a fairly easy way to draw model lines on a curved wall? if not, does anyone have a surface pattern that looks like stone panels (some sort of stipple with running bond grid lines)? any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a variety of pat files on RUGI which ought to give you what you are looking for. If they don't then model lines will work but will be a bit of a pain, what you would need to do, if they are to work in a 3D view is to draw them at a level and then lift them up into a point in space, that way you can make them coincident with the face of the wall and they should view correctly.
