Wall Tag w/ Head

I have a wall tag that pulls the wall tag info from the "Type Mark". In addition i want to edit the wall type family so it comes in with a "?" or "xx" to the side to be used to call out the head condition of the wall (I want to enter the head condition manually). How do i do that? when I tried changing the tag and add a placeholder to it I wasn't able to manually change the placeholder.

I believe you would need to create a shared parameter "Head Detail" or something like that. Insert that as an label in the Family. Then add that shared parameter as an instance or type in the project and apply it to walls. I'm thinking instance would be a much easier option depending on the number of similar conditions.
