We recently moved to 2020 Civil3d and have noticed that .pdf files created with the epdf (export pdf) command cannot be edited with Adobe Acrobat. The plot command using the same layout settings creates a pdf that can be edited. Anyone seen this before or think of a reason it would do this?

Thank you

What do you mean by "cannot be edited"?
Are you talking about editing Text?

I just printed using both in C3D 2020 and get the same result. TTF text is Text in the PDF (not graphics).

Are you using one of the built-in PDF PC3 files -or- something else like an Adobe or Bluebeam driver in your page setup?

The Add Image, Add Text, and Edit features do not work, have only gotten a pop up saying Adobe Acrobat has encountered an unknown error. Using the Adobe PDF default pc3. I have even brought the Adobe PDF pc3 from a working version into 2020 and had the same results. Using the DWG to PDF pc3 in either epdf or plot has the same results.

create a sample pdf exhibiting the problem, and post that so we can look at it.

I don't know if it is pertinent, but we are using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, latest version.

I just opened your "Exported PDF.pdf" file using Bluebeam Revu and I don't see any problems. I can copy text, add new text, images, etc., with no issues.

I don't have Adobe Acrobat Pro DC for testing.

I do, and I'm seeing the same issue in the PDF that the OP described.
but only in his file. anything I create from my system works as expected.

I'm getting similar results to R.K. using an older version of Adobe Acrobat.
