is there a way to copy/monitor doors and windows from a linked model. i am working on a hotel project and the rooms are linked models. i would like to copy/monitor doors and windows that are a part of said rooms so that i may change and schedule the door # (mark). i can schedule the doors in my host model but it does not allow me to edit the door # (mark).

No, C/M doesn't "see" doors or windows. Links are not a good solution for repeating units for many reasons...that's just one of them. Groups would permit unique door numbers. Most hotel projects I've encountered only number room entry doors uniquely and those ought to be in the shell model, not in units (my approach and opinion). You could place a sign (room number) on the wall outside a unit and "tag" the sign instead of the door?

Here's another option (sign as it's not great, but not horrible).
When you tag doors and or schedule them, you can use the to room/from room to sort them. However the rooms need to live in both models.
There's a number of Dynamo Graphs that allow you to copy rooms from a linked model and place them. (This gets you the first step)
There's also a few graphs out there that will number to door based on the room number with an extension.
Assuming you're using a logical method based on rooms, you should be able to do this rather automatically.
There's also a few add-ins out there that will do the same thing.
Doesn't really solve your particular issue, but can certainly help automate it.
