Drawing History

Can someone please tell me where is the drawing history controlled? I've gone through the following: Tools-->Options-->Open and Save Number of recently-used files to list. I have set a variable in there of 9. However, when I pull down File, all I see is a choice of Drawing History which is grayed out. It was working in the past, but not now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't seem to be able to reproduce your problem. What version of acad? You are not by any in SDI mode are you?
