Thanks Nic!
Even though I live in California I wasn't able to make it either. It is nice to see what was missed

if anyone has handouts (or notes) from the last presentation - "Interoperablity between Revit and ADT", I would love a copy. I had to fly out early to avoid the show, and they don't seem to be posted on the AU site (yet?).

Did you see these comments from Melarch (www.zoogdesign.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=11364#11364) .

None of these will download for me! Is anyone else having problems? IE launches a new window, and the PDF file begins to download, then seems to hang.
I'm looking for:
BD11-4L Introduction to AutodeskĀ® RevitĀ® Dec 2, 2003 08:30 AM 12:00 PM
If anyone can download and post it here, that would be great.
(uhhh....this is actually Intro to Revit 6.0! Don't tell too many people or we'll never get it downloaded..... )
EDIT: Strike that last statement, that class WAS the Intro to Revit, not the Revit 6.0 class! My bad....

wow.. .looks like I didn't miss much on Argos-ADT conversion! (too bad, it seems like it would help both software!)
My download of "Intro to Revit" was ok, but its 15.1M and would take 20 min, with my cable modem connection. I would suggest try again, by open the link with "save as" and save the file to your desktop.. that way you can tell if its actually making any progress, or hanging.

Don't look for any miracles here. I was in that AU session and the basic message was "They don't. You have to export/import DWG files."
In the positive spirit shown by the Autodesk team, the presenter held up a target. In the positive spirit shown by the AU attendees, no one threw a tomatoe.

I just posted my handouts and slides to the AU site. They tell me that they will be available next week.

How are you guys getting the downloads already??? This is from the AU site:
Class handouts will also be posted and available for download on the Autodesk University website after the conclusion of the conference. All registered AU attendees will receive an email with a URL and password with which to access the handouts.
I have yet to receive my e-mail with URL and password! I can get to the list of all the handouts, but they wont download...... :(

The link above works fine for me.
Maybe you AU guys get "specials" with extra secret tips and work-arounds. :D
( Hey, I'm an au guy too, .... says so on the end of my email address !! )

I was too eager to wait as well and this is the reply I got from Autodesk.
"Course handouts can be found at www.autodesk.com/au select classes, select course handouts. However, please note as of December 15th, a password will be required to access the site. The password will be emailed to all participants of Autodesk University 2003."
All the links worked for me and the files are safely tucked into my 'Revit Resource' folder. The Intro To Revit Handout is very large and very slow to download. Patience.

Still a lot of the Revit content hasn't appeared in the handouts downloads, with the password cutoff date now imminent and the deadline for contributor's submissions passed.
Some of the handouts that haven't appeared include some of the more interesting Revit content ....
....Worksets.
....Free Form Modelling.
....Tips from Large Complex Projects.

Perhaps Jim Balding and the other presenters could post to RUGI if they are not restricted from doing so by some agreement with Autodesk.

Thanks Jim, I didn't get to attend this one of yours...there was a conflicting Revit class...heads you won, tails you lost...

That's unfortunate, we had a good time and I think people took away and shared some good info. That being said, the handout is pretty much along the lines of the class.

So by now the handouts should all be available for download, but it asks for the password - has anybody got the password and willing to share?

By the way. . . would someone light a fire under David? From what I can see, he's the only one that hasn't posted his material.

Thanks for pointing that out. I uploaded them for posting on Thursday at AU. I will check into what happened.
Here is the family editor presentation. (The retail one is much larger)

The retail presentation zipped up is 4.6 mb. If the moderators can get me the space I will be glad to post it as well.

Hi David,
Glad to hear the problem wasn't yours. I just thought you might be too busy with the release of 6.0.
Hope life is well and the Holidays GREAT!

Thanks, Jim. As usual you have been very helpful. (I missed your session, also.)
