Hello All!

I am working on a huge metal panel job currently and I'm trying to schedule my panels by size, but more importantly, I need to sort them by quantity. I've looked all over and found some helpful hints, but nothing that quite fits the bill exactly. I need to sort them so that the largest quantity of panels is on the top line of my schedule, then descends to the less frequently used sizes of panels. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

Have you tried sort by size and then ascending? This can be selected in Schedule Properties ans Sorting/Grouping tab.

Thank you for the reply! I have tried sorting by size, but unfortunately, that doesn't solve my problem. I need to have the largest quantity of panels, regardless of size, be at the top of my schedule so I can number them in order of which panel is most used in the job. I made a field for quantity, that is calculated manually. I can use it for sorting, but for some reason, it doesn't work as it should (in my mind anyway!). It seems as though it sorts by 'width' and 'height' first, even though I have it using 'Panel Count' first.

Have you changed 'Panel Count' to 'Count' as the first sorting option? Count is Revits default parameter. Just a thought. Then just rename Count to Panel Count...
