We have custom parameter embedded in our materials but am struggling as to why the custom "Category" parameter list is not coming through in the schedule.
Any assistance/Ideas would be helpful.

The parameter will not show up in the drop down if it is not used as a material for something in the project. You can assign values to materials in the materials browser but schedules only schedule items that are physically in the project.
I just tested this with a multi-category material schedule. I set shingles to have "exterior" as its category as I have a shingled roof in my project and I set a material not in my project to "other" and that did not show up in the dropdown.
