Greetings,
Has anyone worked with imagery from Nearmap? I've received a giant TIF file, and Autodesk products (C3D, Map3d, vanilla 2021) refuse to attach it. Paintshop and Photoshop both fail to open it for viewing. I'm open to suggestions, as it's an area I really need good background imagery for.
I presume you are familiar with the process to import imagery into Civil 3D / Map 3D, but NearMap provides these instructions to import them into Civil 3D (https://docs.nearmap.com/display/ND/Autodesk+Civil+3D+-+Importing+Georeferenced+Images).
They warn about file path lengths longer than 128 characters. I've never encountered this limitation, but I have also never used NearMap imagery either.

Yeah, I had gone through that process as well, using Mapconnect instead of MapIInsert. It _acts_ like it's working, but nothing displays, and nothing shows up in Mapwspace under Data.
Have you tried using Raster Design?
How large is the file? I've had issues with extremely large files in the past.

Raster Design and MapIInsert both say it's invalid

Another option to try since you have an extended tool set is the TMS Tile tool to build the images you need from small granular tiles. Download this NearMap parameter setup file from this page https://www.dotsoft.com/tmslist.htm (right click "NEA", save as). In the TMS Tools, use it's configure panel, select the TMS file and supply your NearMap Login/Password. Note this login/password is saved on your workstation but is NEVER transmitted to anyone else. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Aha!! Thanks Terry. It turned out that Corp had actually purchased thee seats for my office before the holidays-- but getting it installed fell into a black IT hole. with luck (and suitable incentives) maybe they'll actually install it.
