Hello, Been a minute since I've been on this forum. Kinda getting back into creating Revit content. I had someone ask me if I could create this (shown below in photo image) type of tensile fabric roof and also make it parametric. I tried a few things and ended up politely declining the opportunity as the timeline was too short for the discovery process.
I had tried swept blend but not enough control with that. and tried swept blend from corner to corner still didn't fit the bill. So finally it got the best of me couldn't get it out of my head and had to try using ellipses. I tried doing a revolve ellipse void cutting away a chunk and it parametrically works great and looks decent (shown below) but just isn't quite the right look. I tried looking into the massing tools in Revit 2012 (only full version I have access to, I have current versions of Revit LT). But didn't have much luck figuring out how those tools work just yet.
I'm wondering....Is it possible to closely mimic this form and have it be parametric changing the circle diameter, width, length, height parameters? Am I on the right track with massing? Do I need a current full version of Revit to accomplish that?
