If I had a penny for every time I have gotten the message 'can't create sweep' while modelling, I could add considerably to my bank balance.
As far as I know from other research, this is typically to do with certain profile shapes or radii of curvature contained therein creating errors when going around corners on a sketched path.
What I don't know is how to assess before making the sweep if it's got a chance of working. It's quite time-consuming and frustrating to be getting this message when creating a more complex sweep profile.
What I also don't know is what adustments to make after seeing this error.
What are some good rule of thumb approaches to minimise and address this error, if any? Or do sweeps just get avoided by industry professionals? If so, what alternatives are they using?
