How do you write this formula in Revit,
x=(w/2)squared + (h)squared / 2*h
Already looked at the help files but still need some assistance.
Thanks

=(w/2)^2 + h^2 / 2*h

Aaron,
I set a parameter for "h" and for "w" in my family.
Input the fomular and receiving error of "inconsistent units".
What are they talking about?

Are you after area or lenght?

What I'm trying to do is create an arch window family that is controlled by the spring point and apex of the arch, not the radius. In other words I want to define the arch with the vertical height of the arch and the width. However I know of no way to do this without using the formula :
chord= 2 * (sqrt of (2yr-ysquared)
where y =the vertical height from the midpoint of the chord to the apex and r=radius.
The sketch is to make the formula work prior to investing time making the family.

No formula needed. Just a clever application of a couple of invisible lines and tangent arcs.
