Is it possible to rotate the filled region hatch pattern 45 degrees without having to edit the Revit.pat file?

Eg. I would like to rotate the Earth filled region style 45 degrees.

Only Model Hatch patterns can be rotated. Rest the mouse over the pattern/tab/select and rotate. To make a Draughting pat a Model pat edit in notepad and add
" ;%TYPE=MODEL" after the hatch pat name.

Something to keep in mind, the Section Cut material used when a topo surface is cut can only be set to a drafting fill pattern.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone come across a hatch pattern displaying earth at 45°?

I'm trying to figure out why or where that would be necessary...

Just personal preference on the rotated 45 degree Earth hatch pattern.

I have even tried to import an Autocad earth pattern that had been rotated, but that still came in all funny.

I created my own rotated hatch pattern for earth. Will upload if i get a chance.

Flat out here...

Try these earth patterns. the scale is small. Model and Draughting supplied

I always mix em up, but I know that each earth pattern's rotation means something specific.

I think it goes sumpin' like this?

45 degrees = disturbed soil
90 degrees = un-disturbed soil or compacted soil.

Wrong?...it's late, educate me...;)

Thanks Steve, it'd be nice to say my motive was that purposeful but alas, it's just user preference...I guess it goes back to manual drafting days.

Hey Steve,

I am smiling! Nothing wrong with that.
Hope all is well with you.

Zeds,

Thanks for the 45 degree earth pattern - all our earth pattern have always been so from the days of hand drafting (or draughting as it was called then)

There is a 45deg earth hatch pattern on Revit City called Earth_Pattern_45_Degrees_201.

You will need to scale it to suit the Aussie Standard's depiction of an Earth Hatch - assuming that is your end aim.
