If you place a very short boundary line at the junction of the two stringers you will get the string to dive down in the length of the short section, this will involve a slight offset in the line of one string and the other. Normally however, you would achieve this arrangement with a newel post as you need th estring to run in its corrcet relationship to the pitch of the stair.

To get a smooth junction between the two strings as they are at present you need to move the middle flight to the right on plan so that the line of the string intersects the top of the string of the lower flight.
